Every year, The Australian Financial Review Magazine brings together a panel of experts to decide on who are the most powerful people in Australia. In 2024, those who made the list – politicians, CEOs, sports people and artists – had the unique experience of walking into AFR cartoonist David Rowe’s world for the photo shoot.

Rowe drew the backdrops and these were then printed onto fabric and strung up in locations around Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
