Victoria’s Allan government is paying speciality consultants Ad Astra Corporate Advisory more than $2 million, including for a scoping study to identify possible asset sales and monetisation of revenue streams to help turn the state’s dire finances around.

Neither the tender nor the contract for the consulting work have been publicly disclosed, but the engagement is confirmed in state Treasury’s annual report, which confirms $1.71 million was paid to the Sydney-based firm last financial year and another $319,000 is in the budget this financial year for “commercial and transaction advice”.
