An Australian university has been told by the Education Department to stop recruiting overseas students for 2025, even though legislation that will impose harsh caps has not yet been passed into law.
Education bureaucrats are pushing ahead with the strict new regime and in the past week have informed university leaders that breaching individually tailored caps, even by one student, will result in their suspension from the system that manages enrolments.
