‘Un-neighbourly’: Sogavare lashes Australia over Chinese security deal

Solomons Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has branded Australia “un-neighbourly” and accused it and the US of foreign interference after they raised concerns over the secrecy shrouding a new policing deal between Honiara and Beijing.

Reviving tensions with Canberra, Mr Sogavare on Monday also claimed China would plug a budget gap caused by Australia and other donor countries delaying their financial assistance.
