Three big questions the COVID-19 commissioners must answer

To produce useful, future-focused outcomes the inquiry will need to adopt a penetrating and sometimes critical posture in answering core questions on pandemic response.

So, it won’t be a royal commission. Despite being the most significant crisis event since World War II, our pandemic response does not justify our highest form of inquiry on matters of public importance.

The political justification for the choice of inquiry is on Anthony Albanese and Mark Butler. It is a hard sell, but critically important for the legitimacy of any findings of the COVID-19 Response Inquiry.
