Government-mandated independent inspectors have given recent voyages of live sheep exports a clean bill of health, despite the Albanese government pushing ahead with plans to wind up the trade.

As Agriculture Minister Murray Watt unveiled an advisory panel to phase out the trade, the industry warned the policy set an “alarming precedent” for other agricultural sectors targeted by animal activists.
