Resounding majority of AFR readers back four-year federal terms
A large majority of The Australian Financial Review’s readers have backed extending federal parliamentary terms to four years – a reform that has also attracted support from both major parties and the business community.
Almost 80 per cent of Financial Review readers said they would support increasing the length of the parliamentary term, pushed by new Business Council of Australia president Geoff Culbert at The Australian Financial Review Business Summit earlier this month. More than 60 per cent of readers believe the Albanese government should pursue a referendum on the issue.
