Police rule out reopening Angus Taylor investigation

Andrew Tillett

The Australian Federal Police has refused to reopen an investigation into allegedly doctored documents used by Energy Minister Angus Taylor for a political attack on Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, despite admitting officers failed to interview either of the two major protagonists.

During a testy session at Senate estimates on Monday, Federal Police Commissioner Reece Kershaw also declined to say whether Mr Taylor's staff had been cleared of creating a fake annual report after the police found there was no evidence Mr Taylor personally falsified information.
