Optimism needed despite slow progress on Indigenous voice

Advocates of an Indigenous voice to Parliament are disappointed at the latest comments from the Minister for Indigenous Australians, Ken Wyatt, ruling out reform enshrined in the Constitution.

Delivering the annual Vincent Lingiari Memorial Lecture in Darwin last week, Mr Wyatt said although the Morrison government would put forward a referendum, the wording  would not include a voice to federal parliament.
