Victorian senator Lidia Thorpe was condemned for protesting at a parliamentary reception for King Charles on Monday, after interrupting the event and screaming about Britain’s colonisation of Australia.
“You are not our king, you are not sovereign,” the former Green and Djabwurrung Gunnai Gunditjmara woman yelled, walking towards the King and Queen in an attempt to deliver a notice of complicity in Indigenous genocide.
