NDIS comes in $600m below budget as reforms bite

Budget measures to cap growth in the National Disability Insurance Scheme are beginning to bring the cost of the scheme under control but experts warn more will need to be done to make the $41.8 billion scheme sustainable.

According to the NDIS June-quarter report, annual NDIS expenses for 2023-24 came in $600 million below the May budget estimate of $42.4 billion, on an accrual basis.
