More charges foreshadowed against Craig Thomson in alleged visa fraud

Former federal Labor MP Craig Thomson has been granted bail, but faces more charges over allegations he helped facilitate more than 130 fraudulent visa applications, making nearly $2.5 million paid into accounts of his personal business.

It is alleged Mr Thomson helped facilitate sponsorship nominations for multiple businesses and visa candidates. His lawyer, Jamie Clements, the ex-general secretary of the NSW ALP, said the former MP intends to fight the charges against him.
