‘People don’t want state-owned homes’: Coalition overhauls its housing policies

The Coalition will completely overhaul its housing policies with everything up to be changed or scrapped, and new housing spokesman Andrew Bragg says the party will oppose Labor’s $10 billion new home building fund and expanded home guarantee scheme.

“The idea the government will become a massive property developer and build 100,000 houses, and the idea the government will become Australia’s largest mortgage insurer, this is really wild stuff,” Bragg told The Australian Financial Review in his first interview since being appointed on Wednesday.
