Letters: Limits to Dutton’s strategy
Peter Dutton’s leadership; energy company CEOs’ response to Labor’s plan; Chris Bowen; free market paradigm; ‘dirty dozen’ big polluters; AFR View and letters; grandfatherhood is outsourced.
Phillip Coorey (“Free market or not, they are all interventionists now”, December 16) contrasts Labor’s acceptance of the stage three tax cuts with the Coalition’s rejection of Labor’s energy bill. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is lauded as a shrewd tactician, while Labor, he claims, was wedged.
What he omits are a number of such decisions that Dutton has made since Anthony Albanese became prime minister that may more than counterweigh whatever benefits Coorey thinks he will gain by not working with Labor on its energy policy.
