Labor reversal over gas-fired power in the Hunter

Federal Labor has reversed its opposition to the taxpayer-funded construction of a gas-fired power station in NSW’s Hunter Valley, following an internal debate on the importance of energy security.

The Australian Financial Review understands that Labor leader Anthony Albanese and shadow climate change spokesman Chris Bowen will travel to Kuri Kurri on Tuesday to indicate a Labor government, if elected, would now support the project.
