Make domestic violence leave a right, says Westacott
The nation’s peak business lobby group has called for paid domestic violence leave to become a universal employment right, describing the poor support for victims as a key barrier to women’s full economic participation.
Business Council of Australia boss Jennifer Westacott used the first day of the National Summit on Women’s Safety to urge corporate leaders to step up on the $22 billion challenge of domestic and family violence, revealing the abuse her mother faced at the hands of her father.
