Labor will ban non-compete clauses for workers paid up to $175,000 – and could extend the change to higher earners – ending restrictive rules that prevent employees moving to a rival business or working on their own.
Tuesday’s budget said workers in childcare, construction and hairdressing would be among the winners from a new round of labour market reforms, including possible changes to the Fair Work Act to stop non-compete clauses in employment contracts.
