Australia’s top spy has warned of worsening antisemitic attacks against a broad and diverse range of targets as the country’s Jewish community is increasingly conflated with the actions of Israel.

ASIO director-general Mike Burgess used his annual threat assessment on Wednesday night to reveal officials disrupted a number of attempts by hostile countries to kill or harm critics in Australia, including a plot to trick a human rights activist into travelling to an overseas country to be killed.
