Huge incentives to be allowed under new changes to share schemes

Start-ups will be able to offer staff huge incentives and bonuses under a fresh shake-up of employee share schemes set to be unveiled by Treasurer Josh Frydenberg in next week’s federal budget.

The changes will scrap the cap on the value of shares that can be issued to non-C-suite employees and replace it with a fixed cap on the amount that employees pay for them; it will also remove onerous red tape obligations.
