Ethnic voters loom as crucial to success of Voice vote

The creation of an Indigenous Voice to parliament is not being raised as an issue in one of Australia’s most ethnically diverse seats, with voters instead focused on hip pocket pain, according to independent federal MP Dai Le.

Yes campaigners are planning to reach out to multicultural communities to win support for the referendum, and supporters concede they may come up against an attitude among older migrants that they did not receive special treatment.
