Drug tests push for MPs as Laming calls time
The besieged Morrison government has been further destabilised by Queensland MP Andrew Laming being forced to quit politics at the next election, amid calls from Liberal women to introduce mandatory alcohol and drug testing at Parliament.
Ahead of a cabinet reshuffle this week, doctor-turned-MP Katie Allen and Senator Sarah Henderson spoke out on the national broadcaster to decry the lack of professionalism among a section of the political class, and demanded “bad eggs” be removed.
