Anthony Albanese has raised the threat of a double dissolution election next year, amid internal estimates Labor could pick up an extra three Senate spots while, at worst, not go backwards.
With parliament to resume next week following the winter break, Mr Albanese confirmed on Friday the government would initiate the process of using the stalled legislation for the $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund to establish a double dissolution trigger.
