Calls for review of WA airfare subsidies after blowout revelations
The Western Australian opposition has demanded the Cook government review its scheme to subsidise thousands of regional airfares following revelations the program has more than quadrupled in cost.
The Australian Financial Review on Sunday revealed the WA government’s regional airfare scheme, which caps the price of return airfares to Perth from country towns across the state, had blown out by more than $60 million.
