Business, industry implores crossbench to pass IR laws
A coalition of business and industry groups is imploring the Senate crossbench to pass the industrial relations reforms this week, while the government is mulling whether to abandon the bill if the demands of the crossbench render it meaningless.
The chief executives of 10 peak bodies have issued a joint statement saying the omnibus bill of measures is a compromise between employers and unions and, as the only economic reform on the horizon, it is needed at such a critical time.
