Architect of RBA overhaul touted for new interest rate-setting board

A key architect of the looming Reserve Bank of Australia overhaul has emerged as a frontrunner to join its new interest rate-setting board as the Coalition gears up for a stoush with Labor over the appointees.
ANU Professor Renee Fry-McKibbin was being touted as a leading candidate for the board ahead of an announcement by Treasurer Jim Chalmers that could come as early as Monday.
