Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews is being urged to stay on by supporters in his inner circle, amid ongoing speculation the premier may be preparing to hand over to a successor this term.

After running the state for close to a decade and passing 3000 days in office in February – giving him the right to be immortalised in a bronze statue – the discussion on Mr Andrews’ future has reignited after the shock exit of West Australian Premier Mark McGowan at the height of his popularity.
