Albanese and Chalmers are gaslighting voters on lifting living standards
Recent declines in productivity and average incomes demonstrate that the Albanese government’s reform rhetoric has not been matched by its policy conduct.

In a major speech on the eve of the last election, Anthony Albanese said: “Australia must lift the country’s productivity, for as the economist Paul Krugman once famously said, ‘productivity isn’t everything, but in the long run it is almost everything’. … The economic reforms I am taking to this election will grow the national income and lift productivity.”
