Accident puts war crimes judge in wheelchair

Mark Weinberg, KC, the retired judge investigating alleged war crimes by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan, has sustained a severe accident that has left him confined to a wheelchair.

Mr Weinberg, 76, has been the special investigator in the Office of the Special Investigator since it was established in 2021 after an Australian Defence Force inquiry uncovered evidence of 39 murders involving members of the special forces between 2005 and 2016.
