2035 emissions target unlikely before election, Bowen suggests

Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen will not commit to announcing Australia’s 2035 emissions reduction target before the upcoming federal election and has hinted that he may not do so until later next year.

Mr Bowen said deliberations were still embryonic in that the Climate Change Authority had yet to furnish him with advice, and he was still in the process of swapping notes with international counterparts.
