Allan snubs Melbourne Airport rail for SRL
Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has pushed ahead with new works for the $125 billion Suburban Rail Loop, insisting the $10 billion Melbourne Airport rail link will be delayed for at least four more years, despite a breakthrough agreement on Monday.
Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus said there was no longer any reason to delay the rail project after the airport dropped its demands for a more expensive underground station, ending a long-running stalemate.
