Melbourne Airport rail mediator rejects underground station

Melbourne Airport has vowed to continue to push for an underground station even though a mediator’s review of the stalled $10 billion rail link favours an alternative plan.

While the proposed rail link between the airport and Melbourne’s CBD remained “viable and necessary”, mediator Neil Scales has concluded there are “significant issues” with an underground rail station.
