Government subcontractor collapse leaves $30m tax debt

A Sydney subcontractor that works on major NSW government jobs has collapsed owing millions of dollars in taxes, bringing it and its related entities’ total tax debt to almost $30 million in just four years.

The Australian Taxation Office last Friday forced formwork contractor M2 Sustainable Services trading as Metsquare 2, whose director is eco-tech investor Kirk Tsihlis, into liquidation over $6.7 million owed in GST and Pay As You Go tax.
