Former ACCC tsar Samuel pushes Cbus for more independent directors

Graeme Samuel says Cbus has ignored his call for the $92 billion construction industry super fund to recruit more independent directors for almost a decade, as he questioned the independence of fund chairman Wayne Swan and warned governance and performance was at risk.

In 2015, the former Australian Competition & Consumer Commission chairman recommended board changes following an independent review into the fund that was sparked by an information leak scandal, saying it would benefit its future governance and business strategy.
