Boarding school is a home away from home for 20,000 school students across Australia. Increasingly, boarding schools are taking a long view; working toward not just the holistic wellbeing of the student while in their care but putting into place strategies that will help make the transition into post-school education and beyond as seamless as possible.
Sue Newton, head of boarding at Ascham School in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, says the majority of its 130 boarders from year 7-12 are from regional and rural NSW.
