Viagra, GM worms and royal jelly have all been touted as breakthrough cures for the degenerative brain disease Alzheimer’s. Now high-profile British scientist Susan Greenfield is ready to move to human trials using a radical approach that targets neurodegeneration long before it can be detected on traditional brain scans.

In April, Baroness Professor Greenfield published a research paper that proved a drug developed by her Oxford-based start-up NeuroBio effectively countered the brain disease in mice.
