Most of our neighbours are part of the Global South. It follows that a serious appreciation of – and policy response to – its concerns would benefit our regional interests.
A hallmark of Australian foreign policy is being on the team.
This was evident with the immediacy of our involvement in the two world wars, and our post-war roles in Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East. It is now apparent in the clarity of our alignment on both China and Ukraine. We don’t sit things out.
