London | Australia has launched a fresh round of sanctions against Myanmar and Iran, with Foreign Minister Penny Wong saying repression and violence had forced her government’s hand.
“Sanctions will rarely be our first choice. ... But it is ultimately about making the best judgement we can about the right approach at the right time. My judgment is that the time has come for sanctions,” she told reporters in London.
