The Law Council of Australia has warned against any move to outlaw "green" boycotts or protests that target Australian businesses, saying it will have unintended consequences and smacks of double standards.

The nation's peak legal body added its voice to those who have come out against the government’s threat to impose penalties on secondary boycotts, citing freedom of speech concerns.
