Australia on track to bust carbon ‘budget’ by 2038: report

Australia is on track to use up its entire carbon emissions “budget” by 2038 even if it works towards net zero emissions by 2050, showing that much more ambitious climate targets are needed to meet the goals of the Paris climate accord.

John Hewson says the government will have to effectively double its 2030 ambition.
