Better basic tax settings would do more for female participation than showboating childcare policies.
A Labor government will give to the rich with one hand … but take it back with the other.
On top of the biggest budget expansion ever, Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says a Labor government would spend $6.2 billion more extending childcare subsidies to families with incomes up to $500,000 a year. Yet, in virtually the same breath, he suggests Labor would scale back the Coalition’s legislated income tax cuts because they favour the rich.
