Warm weather lifts spending on booze, gardening and camping gear

Retail sales may have finally turned a corner after two years of weakness, as unseasonably warm weather pumped up demand for alcohol, gardening equipment and camping gear.
Retail turnover increased 0.7 per cent in August in seasonally adjusted terms, to be 3.1 per cent higher over the year.
