A surge of women into the workforce in the past year has surprised economists, who say it could be a crucial explanation for why wages are not rising faster.

Traditionally-female sectors like health and education have generated most of the 400,0000 jobs created in the past year with two full-time jobs for women for every full-time job created for a man.
