South Australia will hand over 100 billion litres of water to the Morrison government to help up to 6000 drought-hit farmers grow fodder for their livestock, in a deal that brings the government's total drought assistance to more than $1 billion since the election.
The federal government will pay $88 million to South Australia for the water, with an additional $10 million sweetener to help the state cope with its own drought-affected farmers.
