Recession a 50-50 chance if RBA raises rates: economists

Leading economists say entrenched inflation has a 50 per cent chance of triggering a recession by forcing the Reserve Bank of Australia to raise interest rates further.
More than 100,000 extra Australians could be unemployed even if there is not a recession as the economy deteriorates over the next two years, predicted Judo Bank economic adviser Warren Hogan.
