Politics tainting reform of the RBA

Adam Smith’s impartial spectator could reasonably observe that Australia’s monetary and fiscal policies are suffering from cognitive dissonance.
The roles and responsibilities of the Reserve Bank of Australia and the treasurer appear to be at odds. It is reasonable to conclude that further changes to the RBA are based on politics rather than economic reform that leads to better outcomes.
