Our one-trick pony economy can’t keep behaving like this
Population, employment, and government spending are growing faster than the economy can absorb. It is the spending that has to give for a while.

It appears the basics of economics developed and proven over centuries are being trashed or ignored. I can understand the concerns of governments regarding the impact of continuing inflation and interest rates on those who can least afford it. However, they must resist the temptation of temporary palliatives which only exacerbate and prolong the situation.
