February retail sales positive as life gets back to normal

The number of people shopping, spending at bars and restaurants, going to the gym and getting some relaxation at their local park lifted to the highest levels since before the COVID-19 crisis in February.

Australians continued the transition to living with the virus, with almost half the population getting a COVID-19 test in the month but still taking advantaged of eased restrictions, the latest Bureau of Statistics data shows.
