Australians can be pleased with the state of the economy after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, but they should be worried about the economic policies Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese are taking to the election.

At a time when Australia needs to reinvigorate its productivity growth, both political leaders are reverting to failed policies of governments trying to pick winners.
