Cochlear CEO calls for tax shake-up to boost R&D

Cochlear chief executive Dig Howitt has urged the Albanese government to abolish the $150 million threshold on its research and development tax incentive as a simple and easy way to quickly boost business innovation and investment.

Former Telstra chief executive David Thodey and CSL chairman Brian McNamee also called for the government to focus on innovation that will grow businesses and drive new industries as its key economic priority.
