Post office closures, job cuts and no more daily letter service
Job cuts in excess of 400, branch closures, more expensive stamps and the end of daily letter deliveries are among the changes required to keep Australia Post financially viable, chief executive Paul Graham has warned.
But unions are preparing to fight any move to wind back daily mail delivery, and the federal opposition has warned against cutting regional and rural services, despite Mr Graham’s call for political unity to save 214-year-old Australia Post.
